Cities After DarkCHAPTER 01 OF 04

The Transition from Day to Night

When the City Lights Up

As daylight fades, the city begins to change. Office windows glow, streetlights flicker on, and familiar streets take on a different character. For some, the day is ending. For others, it's just beginning. This is the moment when the city becomes something new.

The Blue Hour

Between sunset and darkness lies the blue hour—a brief period when the sky deepens into shades of blue and the city's artificial lights begin to shine. Buildings become silhouettes against the fading sky. Windows illuminate one by one, and the streets below fill with the movement of people heading home, meeting friends, or beginning their evening shifts. For a fleeting moment, natural and artificial light share the city.
